Caffeinated Alcoholic Beverages

FDA warned four companies that the caffeine added to their alcoholic malt beverages is an "unsafe food additive" and said that further action, including seizure of their products, is possible under federal law.

The four manufacturers and their products are:

Charge Beverages Corporation, which makes Core High Gravity Green, Core High Gravity Orange, and Core Lemon Lime Spiked

Caffeinated Alcoholic Beverage Core High Gravity Green, Core High Gravity Orange, and Core Lemon Lime Spiked

New Century Brewing Company, LLC, which makes "Moonshot"*

CFSAN caffeinated alcoholic beverage (CABs) New Century Brewing Company, LLC, Moonshot (small)

 

Phusion Projects, LLC (doing business as Drink Four Brewing Company), which makes "Four Loko"*

CFSAN caffeinated alcoholic beverage (CABs), Phusion Pojects, LLC, Four Loko (small)

United Brands, which makes "Joose" and "Max"*

CFSAN caffeinated alcoholic beverage (CABs), United Brands, Joose and Max (small)
