ORA on the Frontlines: Charles Bright
Charles Bright, Administrative Support Clerk, Office of Management, Division of Field Administration
I’m an administrative support clerk at ORA with over 42 years of government service. I report to the office on a rotational basis during the COVID-19 pandemic. My responsibilities are to ensure import notices and other critical letters are printed, distributed and mailed to the northern United States border. These crucial notices inform the FDA's field staff and the public that the agency has enough evidence to allow for Detention Without Physical Examination of products that appear to be in violation of the FDA's laws and regulations. I also perform the critical support function of ensuring my colleagues in several FDA offices receive Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) so they may safely perform their duties.
I am also a proud member and advocate of the Deaf community in Chicago, Illinois. I feel it's time to focus on children who are deaf or hard of hearing as they are the future of the Deaf community. After I retire, I plan to enjoy my four grandchildren and to work with children with disabilities.
I am Charles Bright and #IAmORA on the frontlines.
