NCTR FOIA Electronic Reading Room
Background
The FDA Freedom of Information (FOI) requires federal agencies to disclose records requested in writing by any person. However, federal agencies may withhold information pursuant to nine exemptions and three exclusions which are contained in the statute. Each federal agency is responsible for meeting its FOIA responsibilities for its own records.
Submitting an FOI Request
If you are not able to find the information you seek on this page or website, you must submit a written FOIA request to FDA. Requesters can now submit a FOIA request online.
