FSMA Webinar on the Preventive Controls Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Draft Guidance
On September 19, the FDA Foods and Veterinary Program held a webinar to discuss FDA’s announcement of the preventive controls hazard analysis and risk-based draft guidance, which became available for public comment on August 24, 2016. This Draft Guidance provides the first five chapters of what will be a multi-chapter guidance designed to help businesses comply with the Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule. The draft guidance explains FDA’s current thinking on how to comply with the requirements for hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls and includes a discussion about establishing a food safety plan.
FDA will also be holding another informational webinar on the FSMA draft guidances for Current Good Manufacturing Practices Requirements for Food for Animals and the Classification of Activities for Farms and Facilities. Information about this webinar will be announced soon.
