Company Announcement

Hearthside Food Solutions of Woodridge, IL is voluntarily recalling 7-Eleven ‘The Italian Job’ sandwiches, which have an incorrect information panel label that does not declare eggs as an allergen.  Persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.

The product has been removed from sale.  In total, 1038 sandwiches were distributed to 362 7-Eleven stores in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

The product bears the sell-by date of “0523”. The sell-by date is located the top center part of the back label. The UPC for ‘The Italian Job’ Sandwich is 5254868635.  The recalled UPC code is 5254859970.  An example of the recalled label is included with this release.

No other sell-by dates or sandwiches are affected by this voluntary recall.

To date, there have not been any reports of illness associated with this product.

The issue was discovered when a sandwich was not scannable at the store.  It was discovered that an obsolete ‘Italian Style Sub’ label was used, which did not declare “reduced fat mayonnaise,” an ingredient that contains eggs.  An example of the recalled label is included with this release.

Customers should immediately dispose of the recalled product or return for a full refund.  Customers requiring additional information may contact Customer Support at 630-967-3600 Monday through Friday 8 am- 5 pm CST.
