Triangle Pharmanaturals, LLC (“Triangle”) of Las Vegas, Nevada is recalling all kratom (mitragyna speciosa) powder products it manufactured, processed, packed, and/or held, between April 4, 2017 to Present. Specifically, such products include:
- Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Emerald Green in 150 capsule and 300 capsule plastic bottles.
- Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Ivory White in 150 capsule and 300 capsule plastic bottles.
- Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Ruby Red in 150 capsule and 300 capsule plastic bottles.
- Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Amethyst Gold in 150 capsule and 300 capsule plastic bottles.
- Molecule Kratom Red Maeng Da in 20 capsule, 80 capsule, 45 gram, and 250 gram plastic bottles.

These products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

The recall was as the result of a mandatory recall order by FDA after FDA found Salmonella spp. in samples of Triangle products. The company has ceased the production and distribution of the products.
