Company Announcement
United Trading Inc of Des Plaines, IL, is recalling its 7 ounce and 14 ounce packages of “Gazab Green Raisins (Chinese)”, because it may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
“Gazab Green Raisins (Chinese)” was distributed in IL, MN, WI, IN, FL, MI, and TX. They were placed in retail stores that sell Indian grocery products.
The product is packed in 7 ounce and 14 ounce clear packages with a printed red out line, brand named “Gazab”, please look for the UPC codes for 7oz (841970015218), and for 14oz (841970015225).
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the sulfite-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of sulfites. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a product packaging process when creating labels.
Consumers who have purchased 7 ounce and 14 ounce packages of “Gazab Green Raisins (Chinese)” are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 224-500-3678, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm central time.
