In addition to offering live events with continuing education, the FDA Office of Women’s Health (OWH) also offers recordings of previous events for continuing education credit. Various types of continuing education (CE) that may be available include:
- CME – continuing medical education
- CNE – continuing nursing education
- CPE – continuing pharmacy education

- November 15, 2023: Hyperemesis Gravidarum: New Research and Insights
OWH hosted a webinar featuring Dr. Marlena Fejzo, Assistant Professor of Clinical Population and Public Health Sciences, Univ. of Southern California, Los Angeles. This webinar reviewed the latest research on maternal, fetal, and child adverse outcomes for the most severe form of nausea and vomiting caused by pregnancy, hyperemesis gravidarum. Etiology, treatment, and pre-clinical evidence for novel mechanisms of prevention and therapy were discussed. CME/CNE/CPE available until January 22, 2027 (1 hour)
- November 8, 2023: Bringing Clinical Research to Patients
OWH, in collaboration with the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) Office of Medical Policy (OMP), hosted a free public webinar to discuss the new strategies currently available for bringing clinical research to all patients, including women. CME/CNE/CPE available until January 24, 2027 (1 hour)
- May 17, 2023: PCOS Revisited: Diagnosis, Management, and Future Needs
Dr. Kathleen Hoeger reviewed the pathophysiology, diagnosis, comorbidities, and findings from recent research on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in this OWH-hosted webinar. CME/CNE/CPE available until June 2, 2026 (1 hour)
- October 27, 2022: Engaging Providers to Address Knowledge Gaps on Medication Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
OWH, in collaboration with CDER’s Division of Pediatrics and Maternal Health, hosted a webinar on to discuss an overview of the studies enrolling pregnant and lactating individuals. The presentation discussed the work FDA is doing to advance research in pregnant and lactating individuals, and provided information on how providers can become involved in advancing research in pregnant and lactating individuals. CME/CNE/CPE available until October 27, 2024 (50 minutes)
OWH hosted a webinar in collaboration with CDER’s Division of Pediatrics and Maternal Health to discuss FDA’s current pregnancy and lactation labeling system [also known as the Pregnancy and Lactation Labeling Rule (PLLR)], which replaced a previous approach that used letter categories. This webinar will help learners examine how prescription drug labeling can be used to inform prescribing for pregnant and lactating individuals. CME/CNE/CPE available until December 31, 2024 (55 minutes)
This 6-module online, self-paced course was developed in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH’s) Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH). The course is aimed at clinicians and researchers looking to learn about sex- and gender-related differences in key disease areas including: Immunology, Cardiovascular Disease, Pulmonary Disease, Neurology, Endocrinology, and Mental Health. CME available (1 hour per module)
