National Agriculture and Food Defense Strategy (NAFDS)

Protecting the nation’s food and agriculture supply against intentional adulteration and other emerging threats is an important responsibility shared by federal and state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments as well as private sector partners. The National Agriculture and Food Defense Strategy (108) charts a direction for how the federal agencies, in cooperation with SLTT governments and private sector partners, protect the nation’s food supply against intentional adulteration. The Biennial Report to Congress on the Food Safety and Food Defense Research Plan (110g) is the first step in documenting progress toward a coordinated, risk-based, and mission-critical federal food safety research strategy.

The Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA) requires special reports to Congress and studies on FDA's activities, these reports and studies can be found on the FSMA Reports & Studies website.  Below are the Reports on National Agriculture and Food Defense Strategy, implementation plan, and research plan.
